Pyramid Peak is a pretty tough 3.3 mile hike up to the top and another 3.3 down. This is another one of those "ass kickers" of a hike, but is well worth the battle. Once you've gone close to 3 miles up and the trail turns to boulders, you some how muster the strength to climb the last leg of the journey. And when you reach the peak, you are rewarded with a 360 degree view of Desolation Wilderness and all it's hidden lakes. Don't let the mileage fool you, its the elevation gain that breaks you down. Which makes it all the more reason to conquer this challenging day hike!
